Try researching Fish Oil vs Cod Liver Oil. The Cod Liver Oil has a ton of Vitamin D in it which is a good anti cancer vitamin. Brands aren’t going to matter as much as the dosage. You’d want to consult a physician or a dietitian regarding giving supplements to children

Do the ones that say burp free really work? How do they make it burp free? I just want the best fish oil out there to get the best source of omega 3. I also eat flax seeds every day for the omega 3 (I chew them). But I’ve heard the fish oil is the best source because it has the DHA and EPA. Any help is much appreciated.

Refridgerated in the health food store. I swear by it. Omega 3-6-9 with borage oil and lemon flavor. Comes in a black plastic bottle. It IS the best. Pricy….about 24 bucks a bottle.

My dogs have thick, luxurious coats, but also have textbook sensitive skin (seborrhea and other dermatitis) and have been given the green light from our vet to seek otc fish oil supplement treatments. I am a groomer so naturally I hold very high standards of how my dogs live, how comfortable they are, how their skin and coat feel to the touch, and how they look. While they are fed a top-notch dry food that is tailored for them, they need the extra tlc from the inside out.

Give me all the brands, names, tricks, recipes, and everything you know of. Oils of high concentration are preferred, but anything you know of or heard rumors about are welcome! Even a slight notion of an idea and I will gladly do research on it! The only thing I will rule out right now is anything plant based, like olive oil or vegetable oil.

I have heard of mixing either canned sardines or canned salmon with an egg a couple times a week. What do you think? I would like to hear a variety of at-home ideas, as well as products, so I can really tailor to my dogs individual needs.

I work at a Feed Store that carries a product named Iceland Pure. It is oil derived directly from either salmon or anchovy/sardine. I give this to my dog directly over her food and she has the softest coat ever. We usually recommend beginning with the Sardine/ Anchovy one because it contains a few more nutrients and contains Omega 3, Omega 6, and Omega 9. Then after finishing that one, switching to the Salmon one and back and forth. And since it is derived directly from the fish, it is highly concentrated and you only have to give about less than a teaspoon (depending on the dog’s weight of course). I don’t believe you can get any more natural than that. And best of all, it is scentless. So you won’t have to worry about a fishy smell.

There is also a product called Lipiderm, but it is not as concentrated as Iceland Pure.
